Outdoor Montessori Teacher and Afterschool Program Teacher

Corte Madera Montessori is seeking an Outdoor teacher for our primary children (age 3 – 5) who would also support our afterschool program. This person would manage our “outdoor classroom” with garden plots, easel painting and other outdoor oriented activities. They would also serve as our first line substitute in the event of a teacher absence and would support our afterschool program and other classroom needs.

Hours offered: This is a full-time job, Monday – Friday, 8:45 – 4:45.

Responsibilities:

• Set up and maintain outdoor classroom activities
• Supervise/guide children in the outdoor classroom
• Supervise children in our afterschool program
• Support classrooms as needed
• Substitute in the event of teacher absences

Our ideal candidate has:

• A minimum of 12 ECE units required
• Experience in a preschool setting leading groups of children from age 2 to 6 yrs
• Confidence with the use of positive discipline to guide children and enforce limits
• Experience with Montessori preferred
• A desire to learn and to be an integral part of a team
• Able to lift 30 lbs

We offer:

• $27-29 per hour depending on experience and training
• Weekly pay
• 5 Paid Time Off days after 30 days
