Dr. Sharra Weasler

Director

Sharra is a lifelong educator who found Montessori through her children’s preschool experience.  She was inspired by Montessori’s holistic approach to child development and the personalized nature that allowed each child to flourish based on their own unique personality.

After completing her AMI Primary training, she was part of the founding team of a new Montessori school in San Francisco, helping to build the program from scratch.  For the past 11 years she has served as an early childhood Montessori teacher, Director, and Supervisor and Field Consultant for AMI and AMS teachers in training.  She loves supporting teachers to implement an authentic, high-quality Montessori curriculum while meeting the needs of each individual child.

In 2024, Sharra completed a doctorate degree in Education Studies focusing her research on learning to read in the Montessori classroom.  She presented a model of Montessori pedagogy at the AMS conference and a new model of reading development at the AERA conference.  Literacy, executive function, and Montessori pedagogy are her vocational passions.  She also loves to ski, play tennis, and backpack with her family in her free time.
